Camila & Matthew McConaughey are Godparents to the new Star Princess
Princess Cruises has announced that Hollywood couple and co-founders of Pantalones Organic Tequila, Camila and Matthew McConaughey will serve as godparents to Star Princess, the line’s newest and most innovative ship. The pair will officially christen the vessel on 4 October 2025 in Barcelona, joining a distinguished list of past Princess godmothers including Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.
“We’re honoured to be godparents of the Star Princess,” the McConaugheys shared. “With Princess, it’s not just a vacation — it’s about families and friends coming together and making memories. This ship has that spirit built right in, and we’re proud to be part of her story.”

The 177,800-ton, 4,300-guest Star Princess is sister to Sun Princess and introduces the line’s next-generation design, with highlights including:
• The Sanctuary Collection – a private escape with exclusive dining, a luxurious adults-only pool deck
• The Dome – a multi-use relaxation and entertainment space.
• The Princess Arena – the cruise line’s most advanced theatre.
• The Piazza – a dramatic, light-filled atrium at the heart of the ship.
• Over 1,500 balcony staterooms with sweeping sea views.
Guests will also find more than 30 restaurants and bars, including signature cocktails made with the couple’s own Pantalones Organic Tequila, part of the Princess Love Line Premium Liquors collection.
After debuting in the Mediterranean, Star Princess will cross the Atlantic for a winter season in the Caribbean before heading through the Panama Canal to Alaska in summer 2026. Voyages through 2027 are now on sale.
With Camila and Matthew McConaughey bringing their warmth and star power to the christening, Star Princess is set to make a dazzling entrance onto the world stage.
