Ålesund, Norway – Cruise Port Guide
Top Things to See, Do & Eat on Your Cruise Visit to Ålesund
Ålesund is one of Norway’s prettiest towns, sitting on three islands where the fjords meet the Atlantic. After a huge fire in 1904, it was rebuilt in colourful Art Nouveau style, so today it’s all turrets, spires and fairy-tale buildings. It’s also the gateway to the famous Geirangerfjord, one of the most spectacular fjords in the world.
Whether you fancy climbing to a viewpoint, exploring a quirky museum, meeting penguins at the aquarium, or just strolling along the waterfront, Ålesund is an easy and very rewarding port of call.
